How to Create Covatic Smart Campaigns
Feature Overview
Smart Campaigns is Covatic’s AI-powered optimisation engine. It reshapes campaign targeting while campaigns are still live, linking campaign performance to real business outcomes like website visits, purchases, and form fills. It continuously evaluates results and recommends new high-performing audience segments, so campaigns keep improving throughout their flight.
Prerequisites
- A registered Covatic account.
- Access to the Campaigns page in your dashboard.
- Ability to share the conversion tracking pixel code with your advertising partner or client to install on their website/CMS.
- Implementation of the Covatic ad exposure pixel within your ad server.
Ad Server Setup Note: For campaign measurement to work, the Covatic ad exposure pixel must be implemented in your ad server using the relevant macros for that specific ad server. If you do not have access to this pixel, please reach out to your Client Success representative.

Ad Server Setup & Master Key Value
“>Once published, the campaign will generate a unique Key Value displayed on the campaign overview page.
Ad Server Requirement: You must target this key value in your ad server for the Smart Campaign optimisation and automated audience recommendations to take effect. This is the master key value for the campaign, and without targeting it in the ad server, live optimisation will not apply.
Success Verification
- Notification: A green banner reading “Campaign ‘[Campaign Name]’ created successfully” will appear at the top right of the dashboard.
- Campaign Status: Your new campaign card will appear in the Campaigns list with a green Live badge.
- Master Key Value Generated: Open the campaign details to copy the Master Key Value and apply it directly to your ad server line item or campaign configuration.
Pro-Tip: Set the recommendations cadence to Weekly when starting a campaign. This ensures the optimisation engine has gathered enough performance data for audience segments to be accurately evaluated and included in optimisations.
