Create and Apply Audience Segment Tags
This guide outlines how to create and apply Audience Tags to organise your audience library within the Covatic platform.
Feature Overview
Audience Tags are organisational labels that allow you to categorise your audiences for easier filtering and management. By tagging audiences with terms like “Contextual,” “Demographic,” or specific campaign names, you can quickly locate groups of Audiences within a crowded dashboard.
Prerequisites
- A registered Covatic
- Access to the Audiences or Advertising
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Create a New Tag
Before you can apply a tag to an audience, you must create it in the global sidebar:
- Navigate to the Audiences or Advertising
- In the left-hand sidebar, locate the Tags
- Click the + (Plus) icon next to the “Tags” header.
- Type your desired tag name (e.g., “Contextual” or “IPG”) into the text field and click Add.
2. Locate the Audience you wish to Tag
- In your audience list, find the Audience you want to label.
- Click on the Audience Name to open the Audience details
3. Apply Tags on the Summary Page
- On the Audience details page, click the Edit icon (pencil) in the top right.
- Navigate to Step 3: Summary by clicking the “Next” button at the bottom.
- Locate the Tags field directly above the “About the audience” section.
- Click into the field to see a list of your pre-created tags, or type a new one.
- Select the tag(s) you wish to apply. They will appear as small labels in the field.
4. Save Changes
- Click the Update and Publish button at the bottom right.
- Confirm the update in the pop-up modal.
Success Verification
- Audience List: Your audience card will now display the tag icon and name, helping you identify it at a glance.
- Filtering: Click on any tag in the left-hand sidebar. The dashboard will instantly filter the list to show only audiences with that specific tag.
Pro-Tip: You can apply multiple tags to a single audience. For example, an Audience could be tagged as both “Contextual” and “Q1 Campaign”.
